Entergy 2008 Annual Report

CLIENT | Entergy Corporation

Entergy Corporation is an integrated energy company engaged primarily in electric power production and retail distribution operations. Meeting the Challenge was the theme for the Annual and Sustainability Reports. Entergy’s message to shareholders was about being prepared with resources, including long-term aspirations, a point-of-view-driven business model, and experienced employees, that need to meet the challenges that lie ahead. Illustrations by Brad Holland.

CLIENT | Cantoni 

The One and Only. Collaborating with copywriter Bill Baldwin, we based the concept and layout on the Cantoni brand. Several full-page and double-truck ads were placed in regional and major home-design publications. Cantoni is now recognized as one of the nation’s leaders in modern furnishings and interior design with six locations across the U.S.

Jobi Logo Design

CLIENT | Jobi Center for Counseling - Austin

Change Starts Within: The Jobi Center for Counseling gives individuals, families, and couples the help they need to overcome the obstacles that prevent them from reaching their full potential. Jobi was in need of a new design to keep with the current graphic standards within their industry. The challenge was to look trustworthy and professional yet friendly and approachable.

Clampitt Paper Wine Label Design

CLIENT | Neenah Paper

Every four years Neenah Paper host a wine label competition for designers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The Clampitt Family Vintage Moondance Cellars Reds was the champion for the year 2012. The “Dog-eared” label took a second-place cash prize. The label had an actual dog-eared edge that was red on the reverse side. This gave a sense of dimension with a simple and crisp layout.

Capturing the spirit of Ernest Hemingway, Boyt Harness Company aspired to create and develop a premium clothing line for an adventurous and well-traveled clientele. These were the beginning stages of logo and brand development after the initial creative brief.

Westwood 2016 Annual Report

CLIENT | Westwood Holdings Group

Westwood Holdings Group, Inc. provides investment management services to institutional investors, private wealth clients, and financial intermediaries. This annual report focused on Westwood’s expansion – globally, in investment strategies, and in assets under management. The theme is based on an “active strategy” in investing where it counts. Typographic branding is the core method of delivery for each business unit.

Fleming Capabilities Brochure

CLIENT | Fleming Companies

Fleming’s Produce Procurement Department needed a capabilities brochure to reach a nationwide market. The concept for this design was driven by a “seed to flower” aesthetic, showcasing quality control from farmer to end-customer, appropriately titled Simply the Finest. A custom-mix varnish was used throughout the entire brochure to reflect elegance and second-to-none quality.

Sally Beauty 2018 Annual Report

CLIENT | Sally Beauty Holdings, Inc.

Beauty in Motion was the theme to tell the story of Sally’s proactive strategy for future growth. Making the claim, as the ‘Hair Color Experts’ for both the professional stylist and DIY consumer. Other strategies included investments in new technology and improving the customer experience in-store and online.

pHaverfield Collection

The pHaverfield Collection by photographer Pat Haverfield is an exploration in art and design all derived from hand-crafted crystalline forms. No two forms are ever the same and applications for this new art form include both gallery art and surface design for textiles and home décor. I designed the pHaverfield Collection’s logo, website, exhibit banners, posters, and promotional mailers.

Westwood Holdings Group, Inc. provides investment management services to institutional investors, private wealth clients and financial intermediaries. I created the theme of “Measuring Up” for clients, stockholders and employees with a metaphoric series of precise measuring instruments and tools.

It was another year of measured growth at Westwood, adding up to another year of solid progress, built upon 13 years of consistent growth since going public. The story and concept for 2009 was “Growth by Design” and executing the “Westwood Way.”

Downtown Plano Feastival 2014

This pro-bono was for the Historic Downtown Plano Association (HDPA), creating awareness for the annual “Food and Fun” event. I designed the theme and logo for posters, banners, and web page. This project opened the door for creating a multi-panel traveler brochure for HDPA.

Homestyle Classics was the name chosen for the logo and POP materials. This was a multi-phase project, starting with naming the theme and logo for the overall POP.  The project included prop search, art directing photography, designing a four-panel menu planner, and shelf-talker.

The academy felt they needed something new and fun from what they were doing years past. Something the faculty and student body could get excited about. The graphic was used for promotional media slides and posters.

Westwood Trust integrates a values-based process with leading-edge investment solutions for families and individuals, endowments, foundations, and nonprofits, including corporate and public retirement plans for more than 30 years. “Let’s Start a Conversation,” was an existing catchphrase that was used to create a call to action. The way to generate that conversation was the challenge. A beautifully crafted four-color brochure was the answer.

Red River Ventures is a Dallas-based principal investment firm that invests in privately-held growth companies. This logo needed to have a timeless establish look and feel but not overstated and stuffy. The logotype font and treatment are traditional with a hint of flair and style.

Dean Foods is one of the nation’s largest processors and direct-to-store distributors of fluid milk. “Reach for Dean” focused on the consumer, and showcased Dean’s brands and products.

Flowserve Corp. is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and aftermarket service providers of flow control products and services. This report was focused on reinforcing a centralized Flowserve brand for their suite of products and services.

This is the must-attend event for investor-relations professionals. Each year, over 1000 members of the IR and capital markets ecosystem convene at the NIRI Annual Conference. Fun in Galveston became the theme and graphic approach for the brand and collateral materials, including invitations and posters.

Mercer/Petco HR Campaign

Petco is a chain of retail stores that offers pet supplies and services such as grooming and dog training. I used a boxer-breed dog, that we named “Max,” as the so-called spokesperson on all materials. I also designed and coordinated multi-level collateral pieces and resource materials for the Petco Open Enrollment season.

Brinker International HR needed to showcase the Executive Compensation Package in a clear, colorful, dynamic fashion. I designed and illustrated the complete layout including a pocket folder, stair-stepped inserts, and a mailing envelope.

Mercer/AEP HR Campaign

AEP (American Electric Power) is a major investor-owned electric utility, delivering electricity to more than five million customers in 11 states. Mercer needed help launching a new HR campaign for AEP: I developed the name “Portraits of Choice” and created the mood board to win the project. I designed, managed, and coordinated multi-level collateral pieces and resource materials for the Open Enrollment season.

TGI Fridays is an American restaurant chain focusing on casual dining. The challenge was to capture the essence of the original TGIF. This bar menu was launched after the new decor was complete. The graphic approach was to create energy and a vibe through a “classic-rock” look and feel.

Local Hero CD Cover

CLIENT | Local Hero

Forward to the Next Generation was the debut CD for the Tulsa-based reggae band Local Hero. The CD was released to launch their regional tour which was on time and on budget. The Local Hero logo design kicked off the initial project, which led to the design of the CD cover before the tour dates were scheduled.
